January 2024 Wellness Resources

Questions of sameness and difference are so often oversimplified. We sometimes fall into the trap of thinking that, as Black women, we inevitably share perspectives and inclinations. Other times, we act as if our differences are barriers to connection. The truth is that, even with all of the beautiful diversity that exists within our community of Black women, we are all connected, and we can all learn from one another.

This year's wellness calendar kicks off with a powerful reminder from Diane Carr Joseph that, despite our differences, we have so much in common that allows us to connect and relate to one another. Our story collection and podcast are rich with representation from a diverse range of Black women. We encourage you to explore the stories within them as well as the list of resources below that will help you strengthen connections as you navigate differences.

How do you connect with other Black women who have different experiences or hold views that conflict with your own?

What have you learned from Black women who you perceive as different from you?'
