OUR STORY
“I am a flower breaking ground.” -Bethanee Epifani J. Bryant
In 2014, Precious Stroud’s vision gave birth to BlackFemaleProject. Through countless hours of volunteerism, Precious and her early supporters captured diverse voices of Black women and their professional journeys. Since establishing BlackFemaleProject as an official nonprofit in 2018, programming, volunteer support, staffing, funding, and partnerships have all expanded. This swift growth over a few short years and during a global pandemic has been both exciting and challenging. During this unique historical time, BlackFemaleProject has not wavered from uplifting the rich insights, wisdom, and inspiration that exist among Black women. As is the case of any developing organization, BlackFemaleProject needs a thoughtful strategy to manage maturation from one stage to the next.
