October 2022 Wellness Resources

Perhaps because Black women have historically been denied institutional freedoms enjoyed by other groups of people, we have a deep understanding that, “no one of us can be free until everybody is free,” an idea often attributed to the great Maya Angelou. Elnora Webb elevated this grounding perspective while in conversation with Precious Stroud on Ms. Webb's podcast, Lead Live. We embrace the interconnectedness of all of us—the fact that our individual wellness contributes to the well-being of the collective society.

As we prioritize our own self-care, we rely also on support from the people in our communities; our wellness is quite literally wrapped up in the wellness journeys of those whose company we keep. Amidst the seasonal transition into fall and the invitation it offers us to slow down, how might we support one another while supporting ourselves? Check out Elnora and Precious's conversation and other October resources for opportunities to reflect on connectivity.
