Black Educators' Night Out - A Special Celebration of Teachers

About the Event

Urban Ed Academy, BlackFemaleProject’s Teacher Truth initiative, and Black Teacher Project — all nonprofits serving Black educators in the Bay Area — have united to partner on hosting Black Educators’ Night Out. This event collaboration has grown out of our shared commitment to celebrate and honor Black teachers’ success, joy, and well-being.

We host this annual evening of music, dancing, food, drinks, wellness activities, and more to express our appreciation for the unique gifts Black teachers show up with everyday in support of our students and communities. Educators gather to relax, mingle, reflect, and laugh in this curated Black teacher affinity space.

Black Educators’ Night Out supports Black educators’ mental health and wellness by providing:

  • an intentional space of appreciation;

  • curated wellness activations and joyful activities;

  • resources for professional and personal development;

  • affinity fellowship with other Black educators and community members;

  • and more!

Save the Date: Oakland location to be shared when ticket sales begin.

About Our Partners:

Black Teacher Project’s (BTP) mission is to sustain and develop Black teachers to lead and reimagine schools as communities of liberated learning. Black Teacher Project is a program of the National Equity Project.

Urban Ed Academy is on a mission to ensure every student gets the chance to learn from a Black male educator. We know representation in the classroom is a powerful catalyst for improving educational outcomes for all students.

How Tickets Work

As a end of year gift, priority tickets go to the Black educators in the fellowship and research programs of the hosting organizations. Limited tickets are available for Bay Area educators outside of our programs and their guests.
